In October 2022, the General Assembly authorized the Maryland Suicide Fatality Review Committee, also known as the State Team (Chapter 81, Acts of 2022).
The Committee identifies and addresses factors contributing to suicide deaths, and facilitates system changes to prevent such deaths.
Annually, the Committee is to undertake statistical studies of the incidents and causes of suicide in Maryland, and of trends and patterns of those deaths in the State (Code Health-General Article, secs. 5-1001 through 5-1009).
