Senate Chamber. It is the original made by Mr. John Shaw

2

for the Senate in 1797. It was in continuous use as the

3

desk of the President of the Senate. The chair has been

4

constantly in the State House ever since its manufacture.

5

It is truly an historical piece of furniture.

6

I have a message received just yesterday from

7

the Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention. I will ask the

8

Clerk to read it.

9

MR. QUILLEN: "From the Pennsylvania Constitu-

10

tional Convention of 1967-68 to the Honorable H. Vernon

11

Eney, President, Constitutional Convention of Maryland,

12

State House, Annapolis, Maryland.

13

"Dear Mr. Eney: I thank you personally, and on

14

behalf of the entire Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention

15

for the expression of good wishes contained in your letter

16

of last December 4th.

17

"Also, I have enclosed a copy of the resolution

18

adopted by the Pennsylvania Constitutional Convention that

19

officially expresses its appreciation for the good wishes

20

from Maryland, and wishing the Maryland Convention continued

21

success.
