for Charles County; Commissioner of Motor Vehicles, State of Mary-
land; Chairman, Republican State Central Committee for Charles
County; Republican Presidential Elector-at-large, Election of No-
vember, 1956; delegate to three Republican national conventions.
Married. Appointed to the Senate to succeed James B. Monroe,
