Said bill was then returned to the House of Delegates.

The House bill entitled an Act to repeal all those sections
of Article 4, of the Code of Public Local Laws for the City of
Baltimore," title "Inspectors," from section 272 to section 567,
also the following Acts supplementary and amendatory there-
to, to wit: the Act of 1861, chapter 35, Acts of 1862, chapter
116, 199, 254 and 283, Acts of 1864, chapters 189, 328, 339,
346, 369 and. 384, Acts of 1865, chapters 6, 192 and 194,
Acts of 1867, chapters 148, 241, 368 and 381, and Acts of
1868, chapters 128, 295 and 458, except section 410 to 423
inclusive, and sections 468 to 470 all inclusive.

Being upon the third reading.
Mr. Henkle submitted the following amendment :

Amend section 1, line 16, by striking out "470," and in-
serting 477.

Which, was read and adopted,

Sec. 1, line 16, amend by adding after the word "inclu-
sive," and sections 495 to 547 inclusive, relating to Tobacco.

Which was read. and. adopted by yeas and nays, as follows:

Mr. Clarke submitted, the following amendment:

Section 3. Strike out first of January, and insert in lieu
thereof first of May.

Which was read and determined, in the affirmative by yeas
