LAWS OF MARYLAND.

Time of meet-
ing.

Sec. 11. And be it enacted, That they shall meet
at the Almshouse on the Wednesday after the first
Monday in May and the Wednesday after the first
Monday in November, annually, and at such other
times as they shall deem proper, and by a majority
of votes of such as may he present, make, alter or
amend the rules and by-laws aforesaid.

Purchase arti-
cles.

Sec, 12. And be it enacted, That they may pur-
chase beds, bedding, working tools, kitchen uten-
sils, cows, horses and other necessaries for the use
of said Almshouse, and the employment of the
inmates thereof.

Make returns.

Sec. 13. And be it enacted, That they shall dis-
pose of all the products arising from the cultiva-
tion of the lands belonging to said Almshouse be-
yond what may he necessary for the maintenance
of the inmates thereof, and shall annually return
an account thereof, under oath, to the County
Commissioners of said county on the first Monday
of June, and pay the same to the Commissioners
for the use of the county.

Overseer,

Sec. 14. And be it enacted, That they shall an-
nually, in the month of August, appoint an over-
seer of the said Almshouse, a physician, and such
other agents as they may deem necessary, and fix
their compensation, and may remove them at
pleasure.

Settlement.

Sec. 15. And be it enacted, That they shall ap-
point one of their own body clerk, who shall keep
the accounts of the said Trustees, and prepare all
necessary statements for settlement with the County
Commissioners, and for whose compensation the
said Commissioners may allow such sum as they
shall think just.

Expenditures.

Sec. 16. And be it enacted, That they shall,
under the penalty of fifty dollars each, make out
and render to the County Commissioners at their
first meeting in May, in each year, a statement of
their accounts and expenditures, with the neces-
sary vouchers, for the preceding year, which
accounts shall be passed and settled by the County
Commissioners previous to making the appoint-
ment of Trustees for the ensuing year.
