WHEREAS, It is the duty of every good govern-
ment to encourage the establishment of useful
institutions and regulations calculated to advance
the well-being, security and interest of the com-
munity, and protect as far as possible its citizens
from those ills and dangers to which they become
exposed in the multiplied relations of society. It
having been made known to the Legislature, That
the corporate powers granted to the Maryland Col-
lege of Pharmacy by the State of Maryland, Jan-
uary twenty-seventh, eighteen hundred and forty-
one, will expire by limitation, January twenty-
seventh, eighteen hundred and seventy-one, there-
fore ;
