Dear Sir:—I have the honor herewith to transmit my re-
port upon the operations of St. John's College, and beg that
you will do me the favor to lay it before the General Assem-
bly. Yours, most respectfully,

Which were severally read and referred to the Committce-
on Education.

Mr. Ritter presented the petition of Samuel Hinks, of
Frederick county, praying the passage of a supplement to
the Act entitled an Act to create and incorporate the
Monocacy & Montgomery Turnpike Company.

Which was read and referred to the Frederick and Mont-
gomery delegations.

Mr. Dennis presented a petition to change the division be-
tween the 1st and 8th election districts in Worcester county.

Which was read and referred to the Worcester delegation
and Mr. Brattan, of Somerset.

Mr. Chapman presented the petition of John F. Lucas, a
soldier of the war of 1812, praying a pension be granted
him.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. Murdock presented the petition of Sophia Rohrer and
others, praying for a pension.

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Pensions.

Mr. German presented the petition of J. H. Shipley and
sundry other citizens of Howard and Carroll counties, asking
the passage of an Act requiring the Commissioners of said
counties to construct a bridge over the Patapsco river, at
Marriotteville.

Which was read and referred to Messrs. German, Merrick

and Shower.

Mr. Shipley presented the petition of Alfred Flather and
forty-eight operatives in factories in Maryland, asking the
passage of a ten hour law for cotton factories in the State of
Maryland.

Also,

The petition of Richard Turner and 102 persons, asking the
passage of a ten hour law for cotton factories in the State of
Maryland.
