On motion by Mr. Crawford,
Leave was granted to the Committee? on Finance, to intro-
duce a bill to refund a sum of money to Bejamin G. Hearn,
of Wicomico county, erroneously paid into the Treasury of
the State.
On motion by Mr. Spates,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Finance, to intro-
duce a bill, to refund Edward W. Mealey, administrator of
Edward M. Mealey, a sum of money paid into the State Trea-
sury, upon a reconizance, recommended by the Comptroller
of the Treasury.
Also, '
Leave to the Committee on Corporations, to introduce a
bill, to alter and amend the Act incorporating the Ocean
Steam Coal Company, of Allegany county, passed at January
Session, 1856.
Also,
Leave to the Committee on Corporations, to introduce a
bill, to alter and amend the Act incorporating the Maryland
Union Coal Company, of Allegany county.
Also,
Leave was granted to Messrs. Spates, Carroll and Timmons, to introduce a bill, to authorize the County Commissioners of Allegany county, to issue county bonds, to repair,
improve and enlarge the Court House, Clerk's Office and
Register's Office, to build a new Jail, repair and improve
the present Jail, to be used for county purposes.
On motion by Mr. Claggett,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Corporations, to
introduce a bill, entitled an Act to repeal section 161, of Ar-
ticle XXI. of the Public Local Laws, title Washington county, sub-title Hancock, and to re-enact the same with amend-
ments, and to add sub-sections thereto.
On motion by Mr. Denson,
Leave was granted to the Committee on Internal Improve-
ments to introduce a bill to amend the Act of 1853, chapter
88, incorporating the Pittsburgh and Connellsville Railroad Company, by changing the name of the said company
to the name of the Pittsburg, Washington and Baltimore
Railroad Company.
Mr. Miller, from the Committee on Judiciary Proceedings,
to which had been referred,
Senate bill, entitles! are Act to repeal section 171 of Ar-
ticle XCIII. of the Code of Public General Laws, relating to
the investment by guardians,
