The House bill relating to Gangers in Baltimore City, Being on its third reading, The following amendments were adopted : AMENDMENTS PROPOSED. Strike out "section I," and insert the following : "Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary- land, That any citizen of the State of Maryland, on applica- tion to the Clerk of the Court of Common Pleas in Baltimore City, and on paying one hundred dollars to said Clerk, shall be entitled to receive a license to act as Ganger of Casks and Liquors for the term of one year from the date thereof. The person applying for said license shall, at the time of receiv- ing the same, take and subscribe before said Clerk, an oath, that he will honestly and faithfully discharge the duties of said office." In section 8, lines 1 and 2, strike out "appointed by the Governor," and insert "properly licensed." After the words "either of them," in section 2, line 4, in- sert "or any other commissioned officer." Section 8, line 10, strike out "appointed," and insert "licensed." Section 7, line 1, strike out word "appointed," and insert "licenced." Section 8, line 2, strike out "appointed," and insert "licensed." Amend title of Ganger's bill by striking out word "ap- pointment," and insert "licensing." In section 2, line 4, strike out the words "be eligible to appointment," and insert "not be licensed." Amend title of Ganger's bill by striking out word "appoint- ment," and insert "licensing." In Section 2, line 4, strike out the words "be eligible to appointment," and insert "not be licensed." Section 7, line 4, strike out the word "appointed," and and insert, "licensed." Section 8, line 2, strike out the word "appointed," and insert "licensing." |
