WHEREAS by an act of the general assembly of Maryland,
passed at their last session †, the stockholders of the Elkton Bank
of Maryland were authorised and empowered to hold their annual
election of directors for said bank, on the fourth Monday in May
last, and on the fourth Monday in May in each and every year
thereafter; but the day being misconceived, and the election held
on Friday the twenty-fourth of May, instead of the fourth Monday, |

1. BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED, That the election
made by the
stockholders of the Elkton Bank of Maryland, on the twenty-fourth
day of May last, for directors of said bank, be and the
same is hereby confirmed, and that all acts done by the said directors,
in virtue of their appointment, are hereby made valid and
effectual in law, as if they had been legally elected. |

An Act to make public a Road in Prince George's County. Lib.

WHEREAS it is represented to this general assembly,
by petition
of sundry inhabitants of Prince George's county, that it will greatly
conduce to the convenience of the people of that part of said county,
and others, to make public the road that leads from the public
road between Piscataway and Samuel Bond's, through the lands
of the heirs of John H. Beanes, William Lyles, and Joseph Boarman,
to Piscataway creek, and the Cove Fishing Landing belonging
to Mary Boarman; and the prayer of the petitioners appearing
reasonable, therefore, |

1. BE IT ENACTED, by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That
James A. Beall, Thomas H. Clagett and Levin Edelen, be and
they are hereby appointed commissioners, and they, or a majority
of them, are hereby authorised and empowered, to review the private
road that leads from the road between Piscataway and Samuel
Bond's, through the lands of the heirs of John H. Beanes, William,
Lyles and Joseph Boarman, to Piscataway creek and the cove fishing
landing belonging to Mary Boarman, and the same to lay out,
survey, mark and bound, not exceeding thirty feet in width, and
make a plot of said road, when so laid out, surveyed, marked and
bounded, and return the same, under their hands and seals, to the
clerk of Prince-George's county court, to be by him recorded
among the land records of said county; and the levy court of said
county, at any meeting after the said plot shall have been returned
and recorded as aforesaid, are hereby authorised and empowered,
to appoint a supervisor or supervisors to keep said road in repair
as other public roads are in said county; and the said levy court are
hereby further authorised and empowered, to levy and assess, upon
the assessable property of said county, at the time of laying their
next levy, a sum of money in their opinion sufficient to defray the
expense arising in the execution of this act. |

2. AND BE IT ENACTED, That the said commissioners,
or a majority
of them, shall ascertain and value the damages which any |
