SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That this act shall take

 

effect from the date of its passage.

 

Approved April 8, 1876.

 

CHAPTER 282.

 

AN ACT to authorize the Commissioners of Oxford,

 

in Talbot county, to convey to the Board of County

 

School Commissioners of Talbot county, a portion

 

of a vacant public lot in the Town of Oxford, for

 

the purpose of erecting thereon a public school

 

house.

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That the Commissioners of Oxford, or a

convey to the Board of County School Commissioners

 

of Talbot county, in fee simple, a portion of a public

 

lot known as "Market Place," belonging to the

 

Town of Oxford, said portion to be so deeded and

 

conveyed to front not less than sixty-six feet on

 

Morris street and running back the entire length of

 

said public lot, and to contain not less than one-half

 

acre of land, for the purpose of erecting thereon a

first submit the question of the propriety of so doing

 

to the voters of said town, legally qualified to vote

 

for Commissioners of the Town of Oxford, at an

 

election provided for in section two of this act.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the Commissioners
