CHAPTER 286.

AN ACT to incorporate the Maryland Tubing Trans-
|
 
|
|
portation Company.
|
 
|
|
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
|
 
|
|
Maryland, That David T. Busby, J. Kemp Barttell,
|
 
|
|
William T. Dixon, George Whitelock and Andrew
|
Incorporated .
|
|
Banks, and! their successors and assigns be, and they
|
 
|
|
are hereby made a body corporate and politic by
|
 
|
|
the name and style of " The Maryland Tubing Trans-
|
 
|
|
portation Company," with all the rights, franchises
|
 
|
|
and powers incident to a corporation; with power
|
Powers.
|
|
to make and use a common seal, and the same to
|
 
|
|
alter and renew at pleasure, to sue and be sued, to
|
 
|
|
plead and be impleaded, answer and be answered in
|
 
|
|
any Court of Law or Equity; to make all deeds,
|
 
|
|
transfers, grants and conveyances whatsoever, and
|
 
|
|
to exercise all and singular the powers incident to
|
 
|
|
bodies politic and corporate.
|
 
|
|
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said corpora-
|
 
|
|
tion shall have the right to carry, convey and trans-
|

fer oil, petroleum and gas by means of lines of pipes,
|
 
|
|
which it is hereby empowered to lay down and con-
|
 
|
|
struct, with the necessary machinery, from the Mary-
|
 
|
|
land State line, by such route as they may deem
|
 
|
|
advisable, to the tributaries of the Chesapeake Bay,
|
 
|
|
and my damages accruing therefrom shall be assessed
|
 
|
|
and paid as provided for in an act, entitled "An act
|
 
|
|
to provide for the creation and regulation of incor-
|
 
|
|
porated companies in the State of Maryland," ap-
|
 
|
|
proved April the fourth, eighteen hundred and
|
 
|
|
seventy; provided, nothing in this act, shall be so
|
