CHAPTER 397.

 

AN ACT to authorize the Comptroller to draw his

 

warrant on the Treasurer, for a sum of money

 

sufficient to re-imburse Sprigg Harwood, for

 

money erroneously paid into the State Treasury,

 

and to direct said Sprigg Harwood to pay the

 

same, when so re-imbursed, to the County School

 

Commissioners for Anne Arundel county.

 

WHEREAS, Sprigg Harwood, Esquire, Clerk of the

 

Circuit Court for Anne Arundel county has, since

Preamble.

the passage of the act of the General Assembly of

 

January session, eighteen hundred and seventy-four,

 

chapter one hundred and eighty-one, collected for

 

licenses for taking oysters with tongs or rakes, a

 

certain sum of money; and

 

WHEREAS, the said act requires said license to be

paid over by the Clerks of the Circuit Courts for the

 

use of the Primary Schools of the respective counties;

 

and

 

WHEREAS, the said Sprigg Harwood, Clerk of the

 

Circuit Court for Anne Arundel county, has through

Preamble.

a misunderstanding of said act of Assembly, paid

 

into the Treasury of the State, the monies so re-

 

ceived by him for licenses for taking oysters with

 

tongs or rakes, as will appear by the certificate of

 

the Comptroller of the Treasury; therefore,

 

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of

 

Maryland, That the Comptroller of the Treasury

Issue warrant
in favor of.

draw his warrant on the Treasurer for such sum as

 

may be necessary to refund to Sprigg Harwood,

 

Esquire, Clerk of the Circuit Court for Anne Arun-

 

del county, fourteen hundred and thirty-three dol-

 

lars and fifty-five cents, paid by him for licenses to

 

take oysters with rakes or tongs since the passage of

 

the law passed at January session, eighteen hundred

 

and seventy-four, chapter one hundred and eighty-

 

one.

 

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That Sprigg Harwood,

Pay over.
