CHAP. 110.

school had of Queen Anne's county, such portion of that*
or any other fund, as may be allowed to any other primary
or free school in said county.

Collector— duties,
&ec

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That the said trustees in the
month of January every year, shall appoint a collector; who
shall give bond in like manner, and whose duties and-
powers shall be the same as those prescribed in the ele-
venth section of the act passed at December session, eigh-
teen hundred and twenty five, for the instruction of youth
in primary schools, and shall in the month of June, every
year, place in his hands a list of the persons owning or hold-
ing property in said district, with the sums levied on each,
together with a warrant annexed thereto, requiring the said
collector to collect from such persons the sums aforesaid,
before the first day of the following December; and the
said taxes shall be levied for the amount required, accord-
ing to the valuation made of such property on the books of
the levy court; and it shall be the duty of the clerk of said
court, to furnish such trustees with a list of such valuation
or such other statement as they may require.

Sec. 6. And be if enacted, That the said trustees shall
keep an account of their proceedings, and report the same
to the taxable inhabitants of the district at their annual
meetings, or to such special meetings as may he called for
that or any other purpose; and shall keep an account
against the collector, for the sums authorised to be collect-
ed, and for other sums paid into his hands, and shall give
him credit for the Sums legally paid by him, also, for his
legal commissions, and for such taxes as cannot be collect-
ed by legal steps and proper diligence.

Sec. 7. And be it enacted, That the said collector shall
have the keeping of all the funds of said school, subject to
the written order of a majority of the trustees, drawn -in fa-
vour of persons having claims against said school; and he
shall report to said trustees, whenever required, the amount
of funds in his hands, and a full statement of his accounts,
and if at the end of the year an unappropriated balance
should remain in his hands, the trustees shall consider it
as part of the revenue of the succeding year, and make a
correspondent reduction in that year's taxes.

Free and Pay scho-
lers

Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That all the white children
of said district, shall have the privilege of being taught in
said school free of any charge for tuition; Provided, that
children living in said district having property elsewhere.
