ART. XXVIl] BARRATRY. 195
voluntary association violating the provisions of this section shall be
liable to a fine of not more than five hundred dollars, and every officer,
trustee, director, agent or employee of such corporation or voluntary
association, who directly or indirectly engages in any of the acts herein
prohibited, or assists such corporation or voluntary association to do
such prohibited acts, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and, upon con-
viction, shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars. The fact
that any such officer, trustee, director, agent or employee shall be a duly
and regularly admitted attorney at law, shall not be held to permit or
allow any such corporation or voluntary association to do the acts pro-
hibited herein. Nor shall such facts be a defense upon a trial of any
of the persons mentioned herein for a violation of the provisions of this
section. This section shall not apply to the business of examining and
insuring titles to real property, or the collection or adjustment of mer-
cantile claims in which a corporation or voluntary association may be
lawfully engaged, nor to any insurance corporation or association
defending the insured under a policy of insurance.
Boundaries.
25.
For a suit for malicious prosecution growing out of an arrest under this
section, see Bishop v. Frantz, 125 Md. 188, 195.
Concealed Weapons.
39.
Since this section gives no right of appeal from the circuit court, no
appeal lies if that court had jurisdiction. The fact that the traverser is
not tried at the term of court to which the papers are transmitted, does
not defeat the court's jurisdiction. Starliper v. State, 126 Md. 297.
Desecration of the National Flag.
1918, ch. 281, sec. 74.

as used in this sub-title, shall include any flag, standard, color, ensign or
shield, or copy, picture or representation thereof, made of any substance
or represented or produced thereon, and of any size, evidently purport-
ing to be such flag, standard, color, ensign or shield of the United States
or of this State, or a copy, picture or representation thereof.
See notes to this section in volume 3 of the Annotated Code.
1918, ch. 281, sec. 74A.
