the Condicon of this obligation is Such that ^ y^e above named (Sir Thomas Lawrence) Barr^t
Secretary as aforesd hath appointed & Constituted the above named John: West Clerk of
Somerset County reserving to the use of y^e Said S^r. Thomas Lawrence the full tenth part
of all Such fees profits & regards as shall accrue to or by the said Office by any wayes or
means whatsoever. Now if the above bound John:West doe & shall well and truly from
time to time & at all times hereafter dureing his Continuance in the Said Office Save
& keep harmeless & indempnified y^e Said S^r. Thomas Lawrence his Heirs Exto^rs & Adm^rs
of & from all & all manner of Suites troubles Controversies & demands whatsoever
by any means accrueing for or by reason of the above bound John:West his Excercising
or Executing the Said Office, and Shall well & faithfully execute the Said Office and
also Shall & do well & faithfully give up & render to the Said S^r Thomas Lawrence a
true & just acco^t. in p^rticulers of all and Singular y^e fees profitts & Regards any wayes
accrueing to the Said Office, by any wayes & means by the day 10^th. day of october in
Every year respectively. that he shall continue in the Said Office of Clerk as aforesd
and at y^e makeing up the Said account make true & just payment of the said tenth
part thereof to the Said S^r Thomas Lawrence or his Assigns. and further if he doe well
& faithfully execute & p^rforme the Said Office, without fraud deceit or Covin, that
then this Obligation to be void or else to remaine in force & effect in Law. ________
