it may be granted. There is no such limitation of any

kind under the present language with respect to the Supreme

Court of Appeals or with respect to the Appellate Court.

Would It riot be wise to prevent the Legislature from

directing the Supreme Court of Appeals or this Appellate

Court from being directed to take jurisdiction in reck-

less driving cases or things of that kind? I would think

that the very purpose of the Constitution is to prevent
|
|

|
legislative imposition of completely inappropriate types
|
|

|
of jurisdiction to the higher courts.

MR. ENEY: The difficulty is you go to the other

extreme, and you then have to have the Legislature spell
|

out the jurisdictions. You say it shall not do it in

manslaughter cases, ad infinitura. It is intended to have

some original jurisdiction. As was pointed out, you

have it in removal of judges. It is also contemplated
|

|
you have original jurisdiction in appellate causes.
