2. And be it enacted, That the said William B. Darrington
shall not, by virtue of his marriage with the said Mary Ann
Darrington, be authorised to have or claim any right or interest
in the estate real, personal or mixed, of the said Mary Ann
Darrington, to be by her acquired after the passage of this act,
nor shall Mary Ann Darrington be authorised to have or claim
any right or interest in the estate, real, personal or mixed, of the
said William D. Darrington, to be by him acquired after the

3. And be it enacted. That the said Mary Ann Darrington
shall have and exercise all the rights, privileges and immuni-
ties, and be subject to all the legal responsibilities of a feme
sole, in the same manner she would have been if she had never

4. And be it enacted. That the aforesaid Mary Ann Dar-
rington be, and she is hereby declared to be, entitled to the
custody and guardianship of her children by her present marri-

5. And be it enacted, That the said William D. Darrington
shall not be liable for any debt to be hereafter contracted by
the said Mary Ann Darrington.

CHAP. CCLIX.
A Supplement to the act, entitled, An act to incorporate the Maryland
Hospital.

Upon convey-
ance of hospital
and lot of ground,
sums of money
expended to be
guaranteed, &c
|
1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the governor and council be and they are hereby autho-
rised and empowered, upon the conveyance by the mayor and
city council of Baltimore of all the right, title, interest in, and
claim of, the city of Baltimore, in and to the hopital, and the
lot of ground upon which the same is erected, to the president
and visitors of the Maryland Hospital, as incorporated by the
act to which this is a supplement, and the delivery of the pos-
session thereof to the said president and visitors, to guarantee
to the said mayor and city council the amount of any sum or
sums of money expended by them out of the funds of said city,
in the purchase of the ground, and the erection of the hospital,
and other buildings thereon, not exceeding five thousand dol-
lars, the same to be appropriated to the erection of a house or
establishment for the reception and care of persons affected
with any contagious or infectious disease, as provided ia the

2. And be it enacted, That the governor and council shall
not be authorised to proceed under this act unless they are fully
satisfied that the entire right, title, interest in, and claim to, said
