1450 LAWS OF MARYLAND.

public officer of Talbot county or elsewhere, or any person or
persons acting for them, having custody of any moneys belong-
ing to themselves or others, be authorized to deposit the same
with the said Peoples Bank of Oxford, Maryland, should
they so desire, any local law of the State to the contrary not-
withstanding.

SEC. 8. And be it enacted. That whenever any deposits shall
be made by a minor or married woman, such deposits shall be
received or held and paid over on precisely the same terms and
conditions as those of adult male or adult female depositors,
and the check, receipt or acquittance of such minor or married
woman shall be valid and binding on them, any law of this
State to the contrary notwithstanding.

SEC. 9. And be it enacted, That said corporation shall be
subject to the provisions of chapter 109 of the Acts of the
General Assembly of 1892 and any supplements thereto and
amendments thereof, and the liability of the stockholders
thereof shall be as prescribed in article 3, section 39 of the
Constitution of this State.

SEC. 10. And be it enacted, That this Act shall take effect
from the date of its passage.

CHAPTER 479.

AN ACT to incorporate the Sun Life Insurance Company of
Baltimore, Maryland.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That John H. Jones, Jr., William Mason Shehan and T.
Hughlette Henry, Frank G. Wrightson, Joseph B. Seth and the
subscribers to the stock of the corporation hereby created, and
their successors and assigns, be and they are hereby created a
body corporate by the name of the Sun Life Insurance Com-
pany of Baltimore, Maryland, and by that name shall have
perpetual succession, and shall be competent to sue and be
sued in any court of law or equity whatever; to have and use
a common seal and to alter the same at its pleasure, and to
make and adopt a constitution and by-laws for the govern-
ment of said body corporate, and its officers, agents and em-
ployes, and from time to time amend the same; provided, such
constitution, by-laws or amendments thereto shall not conflict
with the Constitution and laws of this State or of the United
States; to elect or appoint directors and officers and generally
to do, execute and enforce all and singular such acts, con-
