lect annually a sum of money sufficient to meet any obli-
gations incurred as aforesaid.
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Sections 413 and 414 of Article 22 of the
Code of Public Local Laws of Maryland (1930 Edition),
title "Washington County, " sub-title "Washington County
Hospital Association, " be and it is hereby repealed and re-
enacted, with amendments, to read as follows:
413. The Mayor and Council of Hagerstown are hereby
authorized and directed, in their discretion, to enter into
a contract with "The Washington County Hospital Asso-
ciation" whereby they shall contract to contribute an-
nually a sum of money not to exceed seventy-five hun-
dred ($7, 500. 00) dollars for the care and maintenance of
the hospital under the control and direction of the said
"The Washington County Hospital Association. "
414. For the purpose of carrying out the obligations
which may be incurred under the provisions of the afore-
going section, that the said Mayor and Council of Hagers-
town, be and they are hereby authorized and directed, in
their discretion to levy and collect annually on the assess-
able property of said Town, a sum of money sufficient to
meet the obligations to be incurred by the said Mayor and
Council of Hagerstown, under the provisions of the afore-
going section.
SEC. 2. And be it further enacted. That this Act is
hereby declared to be an emergency law and necessary for
the immediate preservation of the public health and safety,
and having been passed by a yea and nay vote, supported
by three-fifths of all the members elected to each of the
two Houses of the General Assembly, the same shall take
effect from the date of its passage.
