CHAP. 251.

provisions of the association heretofore made, and such
regulations shall, till lawfully altered, be deemed as valid
and obligatory as if made since the passage of this act.
Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That no member of this in-
stitution shall in his individual capacity be answerable
for any losses, deficiences, or failures of the joint fund or
debt of the said society nor for any more or larger sum
or sums of money whatever, than the current amount by
him payable into the common fund of the society.

Sec. 6. Be it enacted, That the power of the Legis-
lature at any time to alter, amend or repeal this act, is
hereby expressly reserved.

Preamble

An act for the relief of James W. Osburn,

 

Whereas, it has been represented to this general as-
sembly, that James W. Osburn, formerly a citizen of
Frederick county, Maryland, but more recently a resident
of the State of Virginia, is confined in the jail of Fred-
erick county for debt and for no other cause; and where-
as, the said James W. Osburn, is desirous of obtaining
the benefit of the insolvent laws of this State (having no
other mode of relief) but is unable to do so for want of re-

sidence— Therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this law, the said
James W. Osburn, be, and he is hereby authorized and
empowered to take the benefit of the insolvent laws of this
State, in the same manner, and as fully as if he had resi-
dence within the State, sixty days previous to his appli-
cation; by complying in every respect with the insolvent
laws of this State, save and except that of residence.

the improved Order of Red Men of the State of Mary-
land.
