CHAPTER 298.

chap. 299.

An act to divide the Second Election District of Anne
Arundel county.

Passed March
8, 1844.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the commissioners of the tax for Anne
Arundel county, be, and they are hereby authorized and
required, to designate and fix upon a proper place, as near
as may be, in the centre of the second election district of
said county, for holding all elections which may hereaf-
ter take place; and that it shall be the duty of the said
commissioners to give public notice at least five weeks
preceding the time of holding the elections of the place
so located and fixed upon.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all laws or parts of
laws authorizing the polls to be held at the free school in
the second election district of Anne Arundel county, be,
and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 299.

 

An act to record and make valid a bill of sale therein men-
tioned.

Passed March
8, 1844.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this general assembly
by the petition of John Smith, of Queen Ann's county,
that a certain Solomon R. Cahal, then a citizen of the
county aforesaid, but now a resident in Caroline county,
did execute a bill of sale to the said John Smith, beaiing
date the twenty-ninth day of November, eighteen hun-
dred and forty one; and whereas the said Smith neglect-
ed to have said bill of sale recorded agreeable to law—
Therefore,

Preamble

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the clerk of Caroline county be and he is
hereby authorized and directed to record the said bill of
sale among the land records of Caroline county.
Sec. 2. Be it enacted, That upon the recording of
the said bill of sale agreeable to the provisions of this
act, it shall have the same effect and be as valid and effec-

tual in law as if it had been recorded in due time; provi-
ded, that nothing in this act shall be construrd to effect
the right of bona fide purchasers without notice.
