Dear Sir :
We are counsel for the Mayor and Council of Hancock, a municipal
corporation of the State of Maryland. Over the past five years, the municipal
corporation has conducted three annexations, one in 1966, one in 1968,
and one in 1970. To make the annexations effective, Sections 17 (g) and
19 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland require the registra-
tion of the resolutions and boundaries. Accordingly, enclosed please find
the following:
1) Pertaining to the 1966 annexation
a—Agreement to Annex dated June 30, 1966
b—Resolution to Annex dated September 12, 1966
c—Resolution of Enactment dated November 7, 1966
d—Legal sized drawing of area annexed
2) Pertaining to the 1968 Annexation
a—Agreement to annex dated March 18, 1968, with legal sized plat and
property description attached
b—Resolution to annex dated March 19,1968
c—Resolution of enactment dated April 29,1968
3) Pertaining to the 1970 Annexation
a—Agreement to annex dated April 15, 1970 (The original copy of
this agreement was later signed by the Board of Education of Washington
County. The large plat enclosed shows more information than is recited in
paragraph two of this agreement, and the areas are outlined in yellow on
the plat enclosed rather than blue as recited in the Agreement.)
b—Resolution to annex dated April 20, 1970
c—Resolution of Enactment dated June 1, 1970
Also enclosed please find a large (3 feet x 5 feet) plat of Hancock,
Washington County, Maryland, showing the 1966 Annexation in red; the
1968 Annexation in green; and the 1970 annexation in yellow. The town
boundaries before these three annexations are outlined in purple.
If we can be of any further assistance to you, please let us know.
Very truly yours,
CROSSLEY, LATIMER & ROBINSON
