2192 Municipal Charters
Section 19 of Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1957 Addi-
tion), as amended, to enlarge the corporate boundaries of the municipal
corporation, and
WHEREAS, the area intended to be annexed is contiguous and ad-
joining to the existing corporate area as required by said Section 19 of
Article 23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland, and
WHEREAS, The Mayor and Council have obtained the consent for the
proposed annexation from 100% of the property owners who own or re-
side in the area to be annexed and consent from the owners of 100% of
the assessed valuation of the properties located in the area to be an-
nexed, which consents meet the requirements of said Section 19 of Article
23A of the Annotated Code of Maryland; a copy of the consent (agree-
ment to annex) dated June 30, 1966, by and between Londontown
Manufacturing Company, a corporation of the State of Maryland, and Dan-
iel R. Fleming and Beatrice J. Fleming, his wife, and the Mayor and
Council of Hancock, being attached hereto and made a part of this Resolu-
tion, and
WHEREAS, the area to be annexed is shown on a plat attached to the
consent dated June 30, 1966 referred to in the next preceding paragraph
and is described by metes and bounds, courses and distances as follows:
Beginning at a point in the East marginal line of Pennsylvania Ave-
nue Extended, said point being at the end of the third or 320 foot curvical
line of a conveyance from J. Ellis Grove to Daniel R. Fleming by deed
dated October 22, 1959, and recorded in Liber 352, folio 196, among the
Land Records of Washington County, Maryland, said point having the
Maryland Grid Coordinates of W-686,226.55 E-468,844.65, and running
thence with the fourth or S59 degrees 10 minutes East 215 foot line of the
said deed with bearings and distances adjusted to agree with Maryland Grid
courses and distances as determined by a recent survey by the J. B. Fergu-
son and Co., Inc., South 71 degrees 30 minutes 36 seconds East 210.03
feet to an iron pin, thence running with the eastern property line of
said deed the following courses and distances: South 9 degrees 05 minutes
51 seconds West 669.89 feet to a 14 foot walnut tree, thence South 0 de-
grees 13 minutes 59 seconds West 1219.17 feet to a point in the Corporate
Boundary of the Town of Hancock as set 1953 and running thence, leaving
the Eastern property line, with the Corporate Boundary line following
two courses and distances, thence North 66 degrees 54 minutes 33 sec-
onds West 589.87 feet to a point, thence North 20 degrees 17 minutes 27
seconds West 1000.00 feet to a point, thence North 69 degrees 42 minutes
33 seconds West 268.35 feet to a point in the aforesaid east marginal line of
Pennsylvania Extended, thence leaving the said Corporate Boundary line
and running with the said East marginal line of Pennsylvania Avenue Ex-
tended, the following three courses and distances, thence North 24 degrees
24 minutes 38 seconds East 458.51 feet to a point, thence with a curve to
the right having a radius of 798.51 feet and an arc of 225.05 feet and a
chord of North 27 degrees 29 minutes 04 seconds East 224.31 feet to a
point which is the beginning point of a conveyance from Hancock Develop-
ment Corporation to the Londontown Manufacturing Company by deed re-
corded in Liber 380, folio 584, thence with a curve to the right having a
radius of 798.51 feet, and an arc of 95.23 feet and chord of North 44 de-
grees 04 minutes 38 seconds East 95.18 feet to the point of beginning,
containing 15.59 acres of land, more or less, and
