Montgomery County Sentinel, a newspaper of general circulation in the
City of Rockville and the area to be annexed, the said notice specifying
that a public hearing would be held on said Resolution in the office of
the Mayor and Council at 9:30 P.M. on the 18th day of May, 1971; and

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of Rockville has fully considered
and deliberated the matters presented at said public hearing and has
determined that said Resolution should be adopted;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND
COUNCIL OF ROCKVILLE, MARYLAND, That the following Resolution
adding a new section to the Charter of the City of Rockville, said new
section to be known as Section 80, Article I (to follow immediately after
Section 79, Article I thereof) and as Section 49-31ww Montgomery County
Code, 1960 (to follow immediately after Section 49-31vv thereof), to pro-
vide for the enlarging of the corporate boundaries of the City of Rockville,
be and the same is hereby adopted to become effective on the 13th day
of August, 1971;

Section 1. Be it enacted by the Mayor and Council of Rockville,
Maryland, that the boundaries of the City of Rockville are hereby extended
to include the following area, which is hereby added to said City:

Beginning for the same at a point 170.22 feet from the end of the first
line of a conveyance from James H. Grove, Jr., to County Properties, Inc.,
for Parcel 3, containing 3.22 Acres of land and recorded among the Land
Records of Montgomery County, Maryland, in Liber 1852 at Folio 111,
thence with the lines of said conveyance and to include part of Parcels
3, 4 and 5 and all of Parcels 1 and 2, the following courses and distances:

(1) S 38° 49' 50" E, 170.22 feet; (2) S 38° 49' 50" E, 42.90 feet;
(3) N 63° 25' 00" E, 122.21 feet; (4) S 23° 39' 50" E, 575.80 feet;
(5) N 59° 09' 50" E, 40.59 feet to a point on the easterly side of a Right-
of-Way fifteen feet wide thence along said Right-of-Way; (6) S 23° 59'
50" E, 167.18 feet; (7) S 25° 40' 50" E, 192.79 feet; (8) S 25° 49' 40" E,
203.32 feet to a point on the northwesterly side of Southlawn Lane, thence
along said lane; (9) S 56° 40' 00" W, 217.00 feet, thence leaving said lane,
(10) N 23° 15' 00" W. 250.00 feet; (11) S 56° 40' 00" W, 80.00 feet;
(12) N 23° 15' 00" W. 238.51 feet to a stone; (13) S 58° 42' 30" W,
175.30 feet; (14) N. 23° 39' 50" 696.74 feet; (15) S 63° 25' 00" W,
8.30 feet to a point on the easterly side of Dover Road, thence along said
road; (16) N 37° 25' 00" W, 225.81 feet to the southwest corner of the
John S. Shomaker Lot, thence leaving said road and along the south line;
(17) N 65° 49' 40" E, 293.04 feet to the place of beginning, containing
10.5639 acres of land.

Section 2. That all of the territory hereby annexed to the City of
Rockville and the persons residing thereon, shall, after the effective date
of this resolution be subject to all the laws, ordinances and regulations of
said City.

I hereby certify that the aforegoing is a true and correct copy of a
Resolution adopted by the Mayor and Council of Rockville at its meeting
of June 29, 1971.
