nominating papers to the board; providing for
verification and endorsesment by board employees;
providing for delivery of certain papers at certain
times; providing for delivery of certain papers to
the State Board; providing for verification of
certain factors by the State Board; providing that
the petition requirements apply to candidates for
election to county boards of education, with an
exception; making style changes; generally relating
to the procedure for nomination to office by
petition; and providing that this Act is an
emergency measure.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That Section 7-1(d) of Article 33 - Election
Code, of the Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement
Volume and 1975 Supplement) be and it is hereby repealed
and reenacted, with amendments, to read as follows:

Article 33 — Election Code

7-1.

(d) [No person shall join in nominating more than
one nominee for each office to be filled; nor shall any
person ] A PERSON MAY NOT sign more than once for the same
nominee for an office.

SECTION 2. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That Sections
7-1(e) and (f) of Article 33 - Election Code, of the
Annotated Code of Maryland (1971 Replacement Volume and
1975 Supplement) be and they are hereby repealed.

SECTION 3. AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED, That new
