Emergency Unemployment Compensation Act of 1974, The Federal
Emergency Jobs and Unemployment Assistance Act of 1974, and
any other federal man-power statutes; and any fully feder-
ally funded positions for which the State receives federal
funds in connection with programs administered by the
Employment Security Administration of the Department of
Employment and Social Services. Notwithstanding anything
contained in this Section the Board of Public Works may
authorise additional temporary positions to meet public
emergencies resulting from an act of God and violent acts of
men which are necessary to protect the health and safety of
the people of Maryland.
SUPPLEMENTAL BUDGET - FISCAL YEAR 1979

Mr. President, Mr. Speaker, Ladies and Gentlemen
of the General Assembly:
Pursuant to the authority conferred on me by Article 3,
Section 52, Sub—section (5) of the Constitution of Maryland,
and in accordance with the consent of the (State Senate) —
(House of Delegates), duly granted, I hereby submit a
supplement to Senate Bill 480 and/or House Bill 810 in the
form of an amendment to the original budget and additional
proposal for the Fiscal Year ending June 30, 1979.
The Supplemental Budget will affect the previously
estimated funds available for budget operations as shown on
the following summary statement.
