JOINT RESOLUTIONS
An accurate county boundary is essential to verify
election districts, establish school district boundaries,
develop and maintain roadways, and allow builders to know in
which county their land is located; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, That the
Secretary of Natural Resources is requested to direct the
Maryland Geological Survey to resurvey and remark, at 1—mile
intervals, parts of the boundaries separating Montgomery
County from Frederick and Howard Counties; and be it further
RESOLVED, That the areas to be resurveyed are that
portion of the Montgomery—Frederick County line from its
intersection with the Carroll—Howard County line at Parr
Springs, approximately 18.1 miles westerly to the Virginia
side of the Potomac River, and that portion of the
Montgomery—Howard County line from its intersection with the
Carroll—Frederick County line at Parr Springs, approximately
2 miles west/southwest to the Patuxent River; and be it
further
RESOLVED, That a copy of this Resolution be sent to the
Honorable James B. Coulter, Secretary of Natural Resources,
Tawes State Office Building, Annapolis, Maryland 21401.

A House Joint Resolution concerning
Federal Funding of Retirement Benefits
for Veterans
FOR the purpose of requesting that the Congress of the
United States provide a certain share of the funds out
of which retirement benefits are awarded for service in
the Armed Forces of the United States.
WHEREAS, The State of Maryland, subject to certain
restrictions, allows veterans of United States military
service to receive membership credit in the State's
retirement system for the time, not to exceed 5 years, in
which the veteran was in military service; and
WHEREAS, A State or local government employee, who is a
veteran, served the country in the military at great
personal sacrifice; and
