HARRY HUGHES, Governor
3357
May 27, 1980
Honorable James Clark, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21404
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 568.
This bill authorizes the creation of a State debt in
the amount of $7,500,000, the proceeds to be used for the
Comprehensive Flood Management Grant Program.
House Bill 930, which was enacted by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 27, 1980 accomplishes the
same purpose.
Therefore it is unnecessary for me to sign Senate Bill
568.
Sincerely,
Harry Hughes
Governor
Senate Bill No. 571
AN ACT concerning
Worcester County - Alcoholic Beverages Licenses
(Ocean City Convention Hall)
FOR the purpose of requiring all holders of temporary or
special alcoholic beverages licenses for the Ocean City
Convention Hall to purchase all wines and liquors sold
by them from the Worcester County Liquor Control Board
Dispensaries, with exceptions; requiring the liquor
control board for Worcester County to charge licensees
for the purchase of wines and liquors at a certain
percent of the retail price or any special sale price
or discount price, whichever is lower, set by the board
for the wines and liquors; permitting all licensees to
buy beer and light wine from licensed wholesalers; and
clarifying language.
