The Honorable James Clark, Jr.
President of the Senate
State House
Annapolis, Maryland 21401
Dear Mr. President:
In accordance with Article II, Section 17 of the
Maryland Constitution, I have today vetoed Senate Bill 967.
This bill authorizes the creation of a State Debt in
the amount of $1,500,000, the proceeds to be used for the
continuation of the planning, design, and construction of
the Maryland Concert Center in Baltimore, Maryland subject
to the requirement that the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra
Association provide at least an equal and matching fund for
the same purpose.
House Bill 1832, which was passed by the General
Assembly and signed by me on May 20, 1982 accomplishes the
same purpose. Therefore it is not necessary for me to sign
Senate Bill 967.
