(a)   [The Commissioner shall prescribe and furnish such
forms in connection with applications for, issuance, renewal or
termination of licenses and appointments as he deems
appropriate.] ALL INSURERS DOING BUSINESS IN THIS STATE SHALL ON
THE APPOINTMENT OR TERMINATION OF ANY AGENT, IMMEDIATELY FILE A
WRITTEN NOTICE OF APPOINTMENT OR TERMINATION WITH THE
COMMISSIONER. IN THE CASE OF TERMINATION THE COMMISSIONER MAY
REQUIRE INSURERS TO FILE A STATEMENT OF FACTS RELATIVE TO THE
TERMINATION AND THE DATE AND CAUSE THEREOF. ANY DISCLOSURE TO
THE COMMISSIONER UNDER THIS SUBSECTION SHALL BE CONSIDERED A
PRIVILEGED COMMUNICATION AND MAY NOT BE USED IN EVIDENCE IN ANY
COURT ACTION OR PROCEEDING OTHER THAN AN APPEAL FROM ACTION OF
THE COMMISSIONER.

(b)  All such [applications] APPOINTMENTS AND TERMINATIONS
shall be accompanied by the appropriate fees in the respective
amounts stated, when required by the applicable provisions of
this article.

(C) THE APPOINTMENT AND APPOINTMENT FEE PROVISIONS OF THIS
SECTION DO NOT APPLY TO AGENTS WHO ARE LICENSED WITH AN INSURER
ON JUNE 30, 1985.

170.

(a)   [Licenses] CERTIFICATES issued to agents AND BROKERS
shall [expire] BE RENEWED on [June 30th following the date of
issue and brokers' licenses shall expire on November 1st
following the date of issue,] JULY 1 OF EVERY ODD-NUMBERED YEAR,
unless prior thereto the [license] CERTIFICATE is revoked or
suspended by the Commissioner or [the authority of an agent to
act for an insurer or broker is terminated. An agent's license
certificate shall contain only the agent's name, his
identification number, and the insurer's name.] TERMINATED UNDER
THIS SECTION.

(b)   In the absence of a contrary ruling by the Commissioner
[license renewals] CERTIFICATES shall be [issued from year to
year] RENEWED EVERY 2 YEARS subject to the payment of the
[annual] BIENNIAL fee as required in § 41 of this article upon
request but without further action on the part of the [insurer,]
agent or broker; and upon payment of the prescribed fees prior to
the date of [expiration,] RENEWAL, the [license] CERTIFICATE
shall continue in force until [a renewal license is issued]
RENEWED by the Commissioner or until such time as the
Commissioner has refused for cause to [issue such renewal
license.] RENEW THAT CERTIFICATE.

(c)   [An insurer shall upon the termination of the
appointment of any agent immediately file a written notice of
termination with the Commissioner together with a statement of
facts relative to the termination of appointment and the date and
cause thereof. Any disclosure to the Commissioner pursuant to
this subsection shall be deemed a privileged communication and
shall not be used in evidence in any court action or proceeding
other than an appeal from action of the Commissioner.
