In item (3) of this section, the former requirement that the Commissioner
"cause" the certificate to be filed is deleted as surplusage.

Defined terms: "Commissioner" § 3-101
"County" § 1-101
"Inmate" § 1-101

3- 909. DISPOSITION OF BODY.

(A) RETURN TO RELATIVE.

ON APPLICATION OF A RELATIVE, THE BODY OF AN EXECUTED INMATE SHALL
BE RETURNED TO THE RELATIVE AT THE RELATIVE'S COST.

(B) BURIAL.

IF AN APPLICATION IS NOT MADE UNDER SUBSECTION (A) OF THIS SECTION,
THE COMMISSIONER SHALL ARRANGE FOR BURIAL.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This section is new language derived without substantive
change from former Art. 27, § 78.

In subsection (a) of this section, the reference to delivering the body to a
"relative" is substituted for the former reference to delivering the body to a
"[relative's] address" for clarity.

In subsection (b) of this section, the reference to the "Commissioner" is
substituted for the former reference to the "warden" for consistency within
this subtitle.

Defined terms: "Commissioner" § 3-101

"Inmate" § 1-101

TITLE 4. PATUXENT INSTITUTION.

SUBTITLE 1. DEFINITIONS.

4- 101. DEFINITIONS.

(A)  IN GENERAL.

IN THIS TITLE THE FOLLOWING WORDS HAVE THE MEANINGS INDICATED.

REVISOR'S NOTE: This subsection formerly was Art. 31B, § 1(a).

The former phrase "unless the context clearly requires otherwise" is
deleted as a standard rule of statutory construction.

The substitution of the reference to this "title" for the former reference to
this "article" makes these definitions applicable to the statutory provisions
relating to the Youth Program, which were formerly codified in a separate
article. No substantive change is intended.

(B) BOARD OF REVIEW.
