(House Bill 1104)
AN ACT concerning
Worcester County - Alcoholic Beverages Chain Stores
FOR the purpose of exempting certain alcoholic beverages licenses in Worcester
County from the general prohibition against granting, transferring, or issuing
licenses for chain stores; authorizing the Worcester County Board of License
Commissioners to renew a certain alcoholic beverages license issued prior to a
certain date; making this Act an emergency measure; and generally relating to
alcoholic beverages licenses in Worcester County.

SECTION 1. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF
MARYLAND, That the Laws of Maryland read as follows:
Article 2B - Alcoholic Beverages
9-102.
(a-l)A Class A, B, or D beer license, beer and wine license, or beer, wine and
liquor license, except by way of renewal, may not be granted, transferred, or issued to,
or for use in conjunction with, or upon the premises of any business establishment of
the type commonly known as chain stores, supermarkets, or discount houses. This
subsection does not apply to or affect any business establishment already holding
