State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit

I Nicholas H Green Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Anne Arundel County do hereby Certify that it hath
been proved to my Satisfaction that the bearer hereof
named Edith Merchant aged about Sixty years
about five feet one & one half Inches high Brown
Complexion has no perceptible marks is the identical
person mentioned in a deed of manumission executed
in the year of our Lord One thousand Eight hundred
and fifty two and that She was raised in the County
aforesaid
                Issued the 12 day of March 1852

State of Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit

I Nicholas H Green Clerk of the Circuit Court for
Anne Arundel County do hereby Certify that it hath
been proved to my Satisfaction that the bearer hereof
named Jim Sifton aged about thirty five years
about five feet five and three quarter inches high Brown
Complexion has no perceptible marks is the identical
person set free by deed of manumission executed
by Arneleu Pinkney dated fifteenth day of April
Eighteen hundred and fifty two and that he was
raised in the County aforesaid
                Issued the 17 day of April 1852
