153 Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a negro man named Charles Matthews aged about twenty four years about five feet seven and a half Inches high brown Complexion has a scar on the left arm above the wrist was free born, and raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 19th day of November 1819 Maryland Anne Arundel County to wit I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer hereof a mulatto man named Bill Matthews aged about twenty one years about five feet five and an half Inches high no perceptible mark was free born, and raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 19th day of November 1819 Maryland, Anne Arundel County to wit: I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that it hath been proved to my satisfaction that the bearer ^hereof^ named Nina Hemmings aged about thirty one years about five feet two Inches high very bright Complexion has a small scar upon the right side of the nose and another upon the back of the right hand is the Indentical person manumitted by Louis Gassaway by deed dated the twenty sixth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and nineteen and that she was raised in the County aforesaid Issued the 27th day of November 1819 Maryland, Anne Arundel County to wit I hereby Certify to all whom it doth or may concern that (it) |
