one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine Mary
Norris personally appeared before the subscriber one of
the Justices of the peace for the County aforesaid and
acknowledged the within Instrument of writing to be her
Act and Deed according to Law

negro Nelly
 I Mary Norris of the County of Ann


Arundel in the State of Maryland  Do hereby
set free from bondage my negro man named Samuel
aged about thirty two years also my negro woman
Named Nelly aged thirty six years and do for myself
my heirs Executors and Administrators release unto the
said Samuel and Nelly all my right and all claims
whatsoever as to their persons or to any Estate they may
acquire hereby Declaring the said Samuel & Nelly
absolutely free without any interruption from me or
any person Claiming under me  In Witness whereof
I have hereto set my hand and Seal this fifteenth
day of the eleventh month in the year of our Lord one
thousand seven hundred and ninety nine
Signed Sealed & Delivered
in the presence of                     Mary Norris   (Seal)
          Mary Harrison
          Eleanor Harrison

On the back of the aforegoing was thus endorsed Viz.t
Ann Arundel County to wit, on the fifteenth day of November
one thousand seven hundred & ninety nine Mary Norris
personally appeared before the Subscriber one of the Justices
of the peace for the County aforesaid & acknowledged the
within Instrument of writing to be her Act & Deed according to Law
