twenty before us two Justices of the peace for anne
arundel County personally appears the within named
Jacob Williams and acknowledged this instrument
of writing to be his act & deed for the use and purpose
therein mentioned according to the true intent and
meaning of the same and the act of assembly in such
case made and provided

   Maryland sc   To all whom these presents shall
come Greeting  I Jacob Williams of anne arundel
County & State of maryland for divers good causes and
considerations me thereunto moving do hereby declare
free manumit & enfranchise my negro man William
Jackson hereby acknowledging the said William
Jackson discharged from all claims of service and
right of property whatsoever from me my heirs
Executors or administrators from and after the day
of the date of these presents  As Witness my hand
and seal this twenty second day of april Eighteen
hundred and twenty
Signed Sealed & delivered
       in presence of
William OHara                     J Williams  (seal)
Abner Linthicum

       On the back of the aforegoing deed was thus
written to wit:
          Be it known that on the twenty second day
of april Eighteen hundred and twenty before us
two Justices of the peace for anne arundel County
