Biography:

Willis Burgess lived in the home of John and Maria Maynard at 163 Duke of Gloucester Street in Annapolis, MD. According to the census of 1900 and 1910 Willis Burgess and his family resided in a home at on Cathedral Street. On November 6, 1914 Willis Burgess purchased the home at 163 Duke of Gloucester Street from Maria Maynard Cooper. Maria Cooper was the daughter of John Henry and Martha Maynard, and granddaughter of John and Maria Maynard, the original owners of the residence at Duke of Gloucerster Street. Willis Burgess resided in the home with his wife Mary. Willis Burgess died in November 13, 1935 in Anne Arundel County, MD.
