In June 2014, State Department of Assessments and Taxation established Assessment Work Group (Chapter 464, Acts of 2014). Work Group reviewed process for real and personal property assessments, and examined issues related to calculating and administering tax credits and exemptions.

Report submitted to Governor and General Assembly on Dec. 15, 2014.

BUDGET DIVISION

BUSINESS SERVICES & FINANCE DIVISION
Renamed Finance and Administration Division in 1998 when business services functions transferred to Taxpayer Services Division.

BUSINESS SERVICES UNIT
Reformed as Business Services Division by 2023.

CHARTER UNIT
Formerly under Taxpayer Services Division, renamed Business Charter and placed under Business Services Division by 2023.

CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE
Abolished by Aug. 2024.

ENTERPRISE ZONE TAX-CREDIT PROGRAM
Under Real Property Valuation Division, renamed Data Analytics and Enterprise Zone Tax-Credit Program in January 2024.

FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION DIVISION
Renamed Finance and Budgeting Division in March 2017.

FINANCE & BUDGET DIVISION
Renamed Budget Division in Sept. 2017.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY DIVISION
Under Office of Director, renamed Office of Information Technology by 2023.

MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SERVICES
Renamed Information Technology Division in Aug. 2000.

MAPPING SUPPORT PROGRAM
Under Real Property Valuation Division, abolished in July 1996. Computerized parcel mapping transferred to Office of Planning; remaining functions absorbed by Real Property Valuation Division.

OFFICE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY
Formerly under Office of Director, renamed Information Technology and transferred to Shared Services Division by 2023.

PERSONNEL
Renamed Human Resources in July 2006.

PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT QUALITY CONTROL
Abolished in Nov. 1996.

PUBLIC UTILITY & FINANCIAL SECTION
Under Business Services and Finance Division, Section functions were divided between Utility and Railroad Valuation, and Franchise Taxes in Nov. 1996.

RESEARCH
Abolished in 2009.
