Born in Floyd County, Texas, 1937. Attended public schools, Floydada, Texas; Texas Technological College, 1955-57; St. Mary's College of Kentucky, 1957-59; University of Maryland School of Law, LL.B., cum laude, 1965. Law clerk to Judge Stewart O. Day, Harford County Circuit Court. Admitted to Maryland Bar, 1965. Served in U.S. Army (3 years); attended U.S. Army Language School. Died in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, May 23, 2025.
