AGING & SENIOR PROGRAMS DIVISION

CABLE ADVISORY COMMISSION
Abolished Jan. 29, 2016 (Bill 2015-07). Functions transferred to County Commissioners.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC FACILITIES
Merged with Department of Utilities in Aug. 2010 to form Department of Public Works.

DEPARTMENT OF UTILITIES
Merged with Department of Public Facilities in Aug. 2010 to form Department of Public Works.

GAMING PERMIT REVIEW BOARD
Appointed by County Commissioners to 4-year terms:
John Elliott; Walter Gordon; Julius Henderson; Kathleen Quade; Andrew Rossignol; Maria Team; Benjamin Watkins; Melody Weschler.

Gaming Permit Review Board regulated gambling in Charles County. Board reviewed gaming regulations and procedures and, at least quarterly, gaming permit applications. It maintained a list of all approved lessors of gaming devices and premises for gaming events, and recorded gaming permits that it reviewed.

To County Commissioners, Board recommended what types of gaming devices might be used in County; which gaming permits to approve or deny; and how gaming regulations and procedures might be modified.

Appointed by County Commissioners to four-year terms, Board consisted of seven members (Code Criminal Law Article, secs. 13-1101 through 13-1115).

Effective Oct. 1, 2025, authorization for Board was repealed by General Assembly; some functions transferred to County Attorney (Chapters 81 & 82, Acts of 2025).

PLANNING AND GROWTH MANAGEMENT ADVISORY BOARD
Abolished in 2012.

RESOURCE & INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGEMENT
Under Department of Planning and Growth Management, abolished in April 2018.

SUBSTANCE ABUSE ADVISORY COUNCIL
Abolished July 2018.

TECHNICAL SUPPORT
Under Department of Public Works, as part of Utilities Division, renamed Water and Wastewater Technical Support Team.

TRANSPORTATION DIVISION
Under Department of Planning and Growth Management, reorganized as Transit in April 2018.

WATER & SEWER OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE
Under Department of Public Works, as part of Utilities Division, renamed Water and Wastewater Operations and Maintenance Team.

VISION 2020 PROGRAM
Under Department of Community Services, funding dicontinued in July 2016.
