County Executive, Howard County, January 28, 1969 to 1974. Member, Planning Commission, 1969-70, Social Services Board, 1971-74, and Recreation and Parks Board, 1973-74, Howard County. Member, Regional Planning Council, 1969-74.

Born in Princess Anne, Maryland, August 7, 1913. Attended Somerset County Public Schools; University of Maryland, B.S. (agriculture), 1935, awarded teacher's diploma; University of Maryland, M.A. (education), 1948. School teacher, Glasva High School, 1935-45; Glasva Sr.-Jr. High School, 1945-46, Faulkner, Charles County, Maryland. Principal, Lisbon Sr.-Jr. High School and Lisbon Elementary School, 1946-49; Ellicott City Sr.-Jr. High School, 1949-52; Howard County Sr. High School, 1952-53, 1955-62; Howard County Sr.-Jr. High School, 1953-55; Howard County High School, 1962-69, Ellicott City, Maryland. Married; two children, four grandchildren. Died in Baltimore, October 20, 1976.
