We inclose you a Copy of the Clause of an Act of Assem-
bly passed late in the Session, occasioned by Complaints of
the limited Prices of Provisions being too low. As soon as
we get Information of what is given by the Continental Pur-
chasers, we shall settle the Prices to be given by our Pur-
chasers, and, that justice may be the more certainly done, we
request you will be very accurate and particular in your
Accounts and Receipts of the Kind and Quantity received
from each Person and the estimated Weight of the live Cattle.
We hope, that as every Thing is and will be done to put our
People on the same Footing, as near as possible with others,
they will chearfully part from what they may have to spare,
and that they will be attentive to Genl Washington's Requests;
to get a number of Cattle ready for the subsistance of the Army
as soon as possible. The provisions may be delivered and
the Difference of Price setled for as soon as we can fix it.
