The bill entitled, an Act to amend and re enact the 27th
section of article 38 of the Code of Public General Laws,
relating to sheriffs;
Was read the second time, amended, and ordered to be en-
grossed for a third reading.
The bill entitled, an Act to authorize the Mayor and City
Council of Baltimore, to increase the issue of Water Stock,
to assess and collect water rates and water tax, to supply
-water on the line of their water works, and protect said wa-
ter works from injury;
Was read the second time and ordered to be engrossed for
a third reading.

The rules were suspended, and the bill, by special order,
