devoting the evening sessions to local bills be and the same is
rescinded.

Mr. Clarke offered the following amendment as a substi-
tute :

Ordered, That the day sessions be devoted to general bills
now on the Speaker's desk, until the same be disposed of.

Ordered, That the Chairman of the Committee on Claims
be instructed to pa/ the Revs. Messrs. Burke, Hammond,

officiating as Chaplains to this House, the suru of one hun-
dred dollars each.

Mr. Buhrman proposed the following amendment:

Strike out "one hundred" and insert "two hundred."

Mr. King proposed the following amendment :

That the Chaplains of this House be paid fifty dollars ;
