Mr. Clark, (the rules being suspended,) presented the peti-
tion of twenty-four citizens, employees of Waterville quarry,
praying the Legislature to grant to Atwood Blunt, privilege
to construct a railroad in Baltimore county ;

Which was read and referred to the Committee on Internal
Improvements.

Mr. Clark, (the rules being suspended,) submitted the joint -
resolation to authorize the State Librarian to furnish to the
several Justices of the Peace of the State the Maryland Code
and supplements thereto;

Which was read a first time.
On motion of Mr. Dennis,

Ordered, That Milton Y. Kidd, Journal Clerk of this House,
be paid the same salary as the Reading Clerk ;

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Phelps,

Ordered, That leave of absence be allowed Mr. Jump, of
Talbot county, on account of a death in his family.

Mr. Knott offered the following :

Ordered, That the officers of this House be and they here-
by are allowed the same compensation—$100—as was allowed
to the officers of the House at the January session, 1865.

Mr. Ford moved to lay the order on the table;
Which was decided in the affirmative by yeas and naya as
follow:
