four Justices of the Peace and two Constables ; for
Election District number two, four Justices of the
Peace and two Constables; and for Election District
number three, four Justices of the Peace and two
Constables.

Sec, 2. And be it enacted, That this Act shall
take .effect from the date of its passage.

Approved March 3, 1868.

CHAPTER 96.

AN ACT to Incorporate the Monrovia and Liber-
tytown Turnpike Road Company.

Turnpike
road.

SECTION 1. Se it enacted by the General Assembly
of Maryland, That a Company be incorporated to
make a Turnpike Road, beginning at or near Wil-
liam Downey's Mills, near Monrovia, and running
through New Market and New London to Liberty-
town, and connecting with the Liberty and Pipe
Creek Turnpike Road in said town.

Open books.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted. That subscription
books shall be opened at William Downey's Mill,
New Market, New London and Liberty, under the
direction of William Downey, Nicholas W. Ham-
mond, Jesse Wright, Joel Hall, Nathan Nelson,
Howard G. Maynard, Thomas H. Hammond, John
H. Devilbiss, Francis S. Jones, Danson V. Ham-
mond, William W. Ogborn, Samuel M. Russell,
Joseph Lowe, Louis F. Detrick and Henry Baker,
for a capital stock of thirty thousand dollars, in
shares of twenty dollars each, who are hereby ap-
pointed Commissioners for the purpose aforesaid,
who after at least ten days' notice by publication,
in two newspapers of Frederick County, of the
time and plaoe of opening said subscription books,
at whiph time and at each place at least three of
the abbve named Commissioners shall attend, and
shall permit all persons and corporations who
