introduce a bill to increase the number of County Commis-
sioners for Prince George's county.

Mr. Merrick, Chairman of Joint Select Committee, reported
that the Committee had waited upon his Excellency the
Governor, who informed them that he would forthwith fur-
nish the House witb such communication as be had to make.

Richard 0. Holliday, Secretary of State, delivered the fol-
lowing message from his Excellency the Governor.

Which was read.

Mr. Gatch submitted the following order :

Ordered, That the Governor's Message be printed, by the
Printer hereafter to be appointed, in English and German ;
10,000 copies of the former, and 5,000 in the latter language.

Which, was read.

Mr. Chapman submitted the following amendment:

Amend by striking out 5,000 copies in the German lan-
guage, and substitute 2,500.

Which was adopted.

Mr. Webb submitted the following amendment:

And the translation into German be made by F. Raine,
Esq., of Baltimore.

Which was adopted.

On motion of Mr. Chapman,

The whole subject was referred to the Committee on Print-
ing.

Mr. Martin submitted the following order :

Ordered, That a committee of five be appointed by the
Speaker of this House to visit the city of Baltimore to ex-
amine into the affairs of the Tobacco Warehouse.

Which was adopted, and the following constituted said
Committee: Messrs. Martin, Owens, Duvall, Wells, Hilton.

Mr. Sanner submitted the following order:

Ordered, That a, committee of five be appointed by the
Speaker, to whom shall be referred the message of the Gov-
ernor, together with the accompanying documents, for the
purpose of distributing the several matters therein contained
to appropriate Committees.

Which was adopted.
