1870.] 0F THE SENATE. 789

A bill entitled an Act to amend Article 81, of the Code of
Public General Laws, entitled "Revenues and Taxes" by
adding sub-sections 5, 6, 7 and 8 to section 34, of Article 81,
relating to the appointment of Collectors and collections of
taxes.

A bill entitled an Act to amend the Act of 1868, chapter
238, entitled "Licenses," so as to empower traders to sell
license with, stock of goods.

A bill entitled an Act to repeal section 39, Article 20, of
the Code of Public Local Laws, entitled "Talbot County,"
and to re-enact the same with amendments.
And the following rejected Senate bills :

A bill entitled an Act to appropriate a sum of money lo
provide a suitable portrait of the late Governor Thomas G.
Pratt, to be placed in the Executive Chamber.

A bill entitled an Act to amend and explain the Act of
1867, chapter 255, entitled an Act to authorize the payment
to the Maryland and Delaware Railroad Company, and to the
Dorchester and Delaware Railroad Company, of the sum of
$13,000, applied to the Choptank and Mispillion Railroad
Company by the Act of 1860, chapter 303, according to the
provisions of section 3 of said Act.

The Clerk of the House of Delegates delivered the follow-
ing bills:

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Baltimore Land
Improvement Loan and Deposit Company.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Howard Central
Turnpike Company.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to add a new section to Article 16,
of the Code of Public General Laws, entitled "Chancery,"
sub-title "Jurisdiction."

Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators
from Dorchester, Caroline and Wicomico counties.

A bill entitled an Act to change the location of toll-gates
on the National Road.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to add additional sections to the
Public Local Laws of Dorchester county, relating to County
Commissioners of said county.
