Which was read the first time and referred to the Sena-
tors from Dorchester, Caroline and Wicomico counties.

A bill entitled an Act to regulate the trial fees of the
State's Attorney for Dorchester county.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Senators
from Dorchester, Wicomico and Caroline counties.

A bill entitled an Act to amend section 140, of Article 9,
of the Code of Public Local Laws for Charles county, title,
" Sheriff," by adding an additional clause to said section.

Which was read. the first time and referred to the Senators
from Charles, Prince George's and St. Mary's counties.

A bill entitled an Act appropriating a sum of money to
Benjamin F. May, Wm. H. Pitcher, and Henry B. Jones,
oat of money paid into the Treasury from Inspectors of Grain
in the City of Baltimore, in the years of 1865, 1866, and
1867.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on Finance.

A bill entitled an Act to incorporate the Washington Mu-
tual Life Insurance Company of Maryland.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Com-
mittee on Corporations.

A bill entitled an Act to authorize the Governor to ap-
point Commissioners to examine the fisheries of the State
with a view to their improvement and protection, and to re-
port thereon to the next General Assembly, and to appro-
priate a sum of money to defray the expenses thereof.

Which was read the first time and referred to the Commit-
tee on the Chesapeake Bay and its Tributaries..

Mr. Henkle, from the Select Committee, to whom was re-
ferred House bill entitled an Act to prevent the increase of
gates upon the public roads of Anne Arundel and Prince
George's counties, reported it without amendment.

Said bill was then read the second time.

Mr. Clarke moved that the House bill entitled an Act to
incorporate the Baltimore, Calverton and Powhatan Railroad
Company be read the third time this day.

The yeas and nays were called as required by section 27,
of Article 3, of the Constitution, and appeared, as follows :
